Joan Doris (Belanger) Breeden

Joan Doris Breeden, age 86, passed away on February 4, 2019 in Caliente, Nevada. She was born on February 9, 1932 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Oscar Napeoleon and Florence Hester Belanger.

She married Russell W. Hawkes, they divorced. Then later she married Marvin Breeden. Joan’s profession was a school teacher, teaching in both McGill and Ely, Nevada. She was also the secretary of the Women’s Catholic Rectory.

Joan is survived by her children; Diane (Thomas) Weston DeVuono of Caliente, NV, Carol-Lynn Hawkes of Enumclaw, WA, Kathryn Hicks of Flagstaff, AZ, and David M (Joani) Hawkes of Corona, CA. Along with 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Breeden, her parents Oscar and Florence Belanger and sister Patricia.

A Rosary will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 6:00 pm at the Southern Nevada Mortuary, 730 Front Street, Caliente, NV. A Funeral will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Catholic Church located on Locust and Tennille in Caliente, NV. Interment will be in the Caliente Cemetery under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary.
