Verna Blauer Price

Feb 29, 1936 — Aug 11, 2026

Panaca

Verna Blauer Price, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 90. She left her earthly home surrounded by her family at her home in Panaca, Nevada.

Verna was born on February 29, 1936, to Joseph Arnold and Alma Parker Blauer. She was raised in Burley, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. Shortly afterward, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met the love of her life, Sherell “Bud” Price. They married and eventually settled in Panaca, Nevada, where they made their home and raised their four children.

Verna found great joy in her career at the C.O. Bastian Youth Center, where she formed lifelong friendships and touched the lives of many. She was also an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where her faith and love for others were evident throughout her life.

But perhaps Verna’s greatest gift was the home she created. Through her love, compassion, and generous spirit, the Price home became a place where everyone was welcome. She opened her doors to anyone who needed a safe place, a listening ear, a warm meal, or simply to feel loved. Countless people found solace, safety, acceptance, and unconditional love within those walls. Many who entered her home may not have been family by blood, but Verna made them family in every way that mattered.

Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the lives she touched along the way. She will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her love will continue through the many people who were fortunate enough to call her Mom, Grandma, friend, and family.

Verna is survived by her sister Elona (Dave) Barclay, her four children: Terry (Sally) Price, Cheryl Lynn (Rick) Hansen, Bruce Price, and Valerie (Galen) Littleton; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved adopted children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Panaca Stake Center on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Panaca Cemetery under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary. To share online condolences, please visit www.southernnevadamortuary.com.
