Jule Ann Durfee Wadsworth, age 65, of Panaca, Nevada, passed away on February 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Jule was born on July 10, 1960 in Burley, Idaho, to Curtis Lee and Mary Lou Andreasen Durfee. They took her home to Almo, where she spent her childhood and teenage years on the family ranch. Where she developed her love of the outdoors and horses. She attended schools in Almo and Malta, Idaho and graduated from Raft River High School as valedictorian in 1978. She attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University, graduating with a master’s degree in Range Science. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1983-1984 in Madrid, Spain. Jule was a lifelong member and served with love and devotion in various callings.
Jule worked as the Wild Horse and Burro Specialist for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the Caliente Field Office. She married the love of her life, Mathew Bruce Wadsworth, on June 8, 1991, in the Logan, Utah Temple. After a brief stint with the BLM, she chose to focus on raising a family and worked as a private range consultant for the rest of her life. Jule was passionate and dedicated to her family and also found time to serve in the local community in multiple endeavors as the Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo chairman for several years, Farm Bureau, Lincoln County Soil Conservation District, and various boards. Jule had a great love for her cousins and extended family, as well as doing family history work.
Jule is survived by her husband Mathew Wadsworth, and their children Moroni (Clara) Wadsworth, Lehi (Artell) Wadsworth, Nephi Wadsworth, Joy Wadsworth, and 9 grandchildren. Her father Curtis Durfee (stepmother Sharon) and siblings Jeanette (Mark) Babbitt, Kathleen Durfee, Myron (Caroline) Durfee, Lorin (Teresa) Durfee. Jule was preceded in death by her mother Mary Lou Andreasen Durfee, brother Alan and a stillborn baby brother.
Her funeral will be held in Panaca, Nevada on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1065 Main St) at 11:30 am. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service at 10:00 to 11:00 am under the direction of Southern Nevada Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2 pm in Almo, Idaho at the Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery under the direction of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home.
